weekend

So last weekend I went down to Nogales with a local caucasian mega-church as they do monthly day missions trip there. I helped walk around to deliver Bags of Love to houses. The bags consists of 2lbs of rice, 2lbs of pinto beans and tomato paste. The rice and paste can make spanish rice for a long while.

It was an eye opening experience of course. We were definitely in a poor area with no amenities. The medical team saw a few interesting cases to say the least. I really really wish I could speak and understand Spanish, as it is, i likened myself to being the mule carrying the bags while our Mexican counterparts shared the gospel.

I don't mind helping out in any way I can, but it would have been very nice to know the language.

This past weekend, played a bit of tennis and played more than a bit of cards. Because of that, I'm a bit sore from some push-ups.

Yesterday, the TCBC church held their Halloween carnival for the kids, they call it Harvest Festival. I have never ever really dressed up in a costume before in my 'young', haha, life so i thought i would this year as I am in a brand new place and it sounded like everyone would be dressing up too.

I thought of going as the Ace of Spades, easy and cheap to put together. As it was, my idea evolved and I ended up going as something else. I'll post those pics once I get them fwded to me. You'll have to guess what it is once you see the pics. :)

For now, I have a nice little picture to share with you of the Tucson area. My co-workers go ATV riding every week, if i could afford one, I'd totally do it too. But I thought this one pic. was so picturesque and surprisingly pretty for the desert that I thought I'd share it. :) They call this Mt. Fagan.

Grace to you, Vien

Wow, sunny blue skies and no snow! I sure wish I were living in a warmer climate right now! It's not even that cold out and I'm already whining and sniffling!

You should see if you could rent an ATV...it would be an experience in itself!

Sounds like you are having a blast, Viener! =) I'm glad that you are finding some new and adventurous ways to fill your leisure time in the warm hours of your weekend and evenings.

We are freezing to death up here! I can't wait to go to Van!
