I'm blogging again, yes, I have that much free time at work these days. We will have a 1.5yr long project starting up soon though so I'm making the most of it. :)
Tragedy regarding Steven Curtis Chapman's family, google it if you haven't heard, too lazy to link it here...
One of those incidents where your faith can be shattered and re-built again. I am shocked and sad for them.
I got my work permit renewed yesterday! Had to go down to the Mexican border twice. Drama and tense-ness ensued both times. Next year, I think I will renew it back in Canada, the Customs officials at the Mexican border are probably more hardened and tough due to all those illegal immigrants that try to come in.
Even yesterday, I observed a crying grandma who only spoke Spanish trying to get in and had me questioning whether or not she was for real. My friend understood bits and pieces of what she was trying to say...sick son in Phoenix or something.
I feel a little bit like the Will Smith character in I am Legend. I open up the blinds and curtains around my house in the moring before I leave for work because I enjoy natural light. And then when I get home and it's getting to be nightfall, I would draw them close since I live alone and don't want to be illuminated.
Finally, I like to just step out of the house to exercise but it is waay too hot when the sun is out. Fortunately, my neighborhood is basically at the base of a small mountain so I wait til the sun sets behind the mountain and then go rollerblading until dusk. The mountain acts like one huge sun shield for me and affords me a longer exercise time. :)
Leaving on a jet plane in 5hrs, yays.
