befallen

I am still paying for my Mt. Lemmon adventure.

The lack of sleep, adequate clothing for Tucson's current sub-zero cold spell and my past invincibility that I never get ill has befallen me sick. I didn't get sick in Edmonton for over 12 years & now I've been sick twice since I got here 3 months ago!

I am at home today and I just woke up from a nap that leaves me feeling strangely disoriented and sadly more homesick. I miss family and friends. I made some broth from goose meat that a co-worker shot and had it with some wontons my mom froze. Goose broth is so clear and sweet tasting, I highly recommend it. :)

So anyways, the last part of my LA trip included a day out in the Santa Monica area with Albert Lin and his friends. It was a breezy day at the pier.

We walked around there and I guess also around LA's well known 3rd Street Promenade which is essentially a street with alot of stores and some street entertainment. We had dinner in Westwood which meant I got to see Rodeo Drive out of the car window. I also did get to visit Grace Community Church and listen to John McArthur, but you know, I was so super tired that morning, I did not even get 10% out of that worship experience I would say.

And as Americans say, my bad. I am thinking about registering and attending a conference through Grace Community Church called Resolved in Febrauray held in Long Beach. I want to pray about spending that amount of money on conference fee and airfare because it can add up. But one of the speakers include John Piper!

Have yourselves a warm and healthy weekend folks.

Grace to you, Vien
