Every year around this time of the year, Tucson hosts the biggest gem, mineral and jewelry show in the world.
It's a huge event. Dealers, buyers and sellers from around the world will come here and you can get up to 900% off retail price for precious stones. All the hotels rooms are booked up and they take the beds out of the rooms and each room is turned into an individual store where buyers set up glass cases. You have to see it to believe it.
My roommate's parents are visiting and her mom bought a sweet looking 1.6 Carat diamond ring. They set it for her and had it ready for her in one day. And it's even a Cartier design and fully certified.
Good thing I'm not a jewelry kind of girl, but the entrepreneur in me wants to buy one and sell it on ebay. :)

We're leaning towards a negative, V. The coastal waters and majestic mountains are still calling our name. :) That said, nothing has been decided. We are heading south, though...to Disney at spring break. We're totally psyched for the getaway!
Also, if I was in Tucson right now I would probably ask Hubbs to get me a new rock. 900% off?!? I would totally upgrade to a clearer, bigger, blingier gem for wear on special occasions :) Alas, the flashy ring & I aren't meant to be.
