In your Face....book

My friend in Canada likes to call it that, or "Rub it yo' Face...book" as she uses it to showcase her cutest little baby girl.

Somehow and in some way, Facebook seems to have exploded in Canada-land or at least within the group of people I know. Through viewing different networks, & lists and lists of people, it seems like everyone and their mother have joined Facebook. Even my older sister and cousin-in-law, who seemingly have no desire for an online prescence, has signed up so that they can be connected with friends old and new.

I've resisted signing up as I don't need one more account and site to manage and memorize details for, but I finally did last week so that I can view photos of little ones. I heard Facebook was created by a young Toronto student (who is probably very rich now).

People in the States have been on it for a long time now, next to MySpace, Xanga, etc. people down here are much more connected and willing to be online.

I think that the one drawback to Facebook for someone sort of shy and kind of private like me is that when you edit anything or make one Facebook move, everyone on your Friends list will know. So really, who needs to have over 100 Friends. :) Like its name notalgically waxes, in a way, Facebook seems to be like high school all over again to me.

I know many of you out there have Facebook and enjoy using it. Tell me some of the reasons why. :)

Grace to you, vien

Well, Vien, I can't say you're altogether wrong about Facebook. Part of me thinks it is a fad that will die out sooner than later - however I do like it for the ability to connect me with a lot of my friends at once. As a relationship builder I think it is without peer.

As I am also fairly private I set my screening information such that only certain friends can see information about me, or else I just don't add 'em!

Hey Justice,

I agree with you about it probably being the best one on the web.

It will be interesting to see the staying power of it. I think it's sort of dying down here as the account holder gets older.

but it's especially great for students.
