Just a segue post with some observations and inquiries:
I am now the sole consumer of my household goods, I go through a roll of toilet paper in less than a week's time. Do I have a small bladder or am I using too many squares? And this is for a person who is working during the day, thus not consuming toilet paper for half the day.
It's tough deciding what to cook or if it's worth it to. No wonder dinner for one is usually a take-out or quick bites. But I've been buying organic or trying to buy groceries that are not too processed, it doesn't make that much monetary difference when buying for one anyway. And every Fri. at church there is home cooked chinese meals prepared by the pastor's wife. How nice. Also, every 2nd Tues. is get together dinners with fellowship people taking turns cooking.
Next Tuesday has been volunteered by a friend & I, I'm getting nervous about it already. Last time, this guy made wonton dumplings from scratch!
I'm also filling up gasoline twice a week even though I live only 15mins from work. Everything is too spread out here in Tucson and I sometimes drive to the malls to go for walks just for exercise b/c it's too dark or too hot. I drive alot and I technically should only drive 1000 miles a month as my lease only allows 12,000/yr. I've already broken a 1000 in 3 weeks time.
I might not get approved for an Amer. credit card b/c i have zero credit history in the U.S. That will put a damper on my purchasing power, even though I pay off everything, it's just the ability to make bigger purchases is taken away. Here's hoping someone will give me a credit card. C'mon, don't they love the opportunity to put people in debt.
Grace to you, Vien

I also go through a lot of TP, although I find it helpful to buy the double-rolls just to make me feel like I'm not dumping so much paper into our sewer system. It's just an illusion but it makes me feel better ;)
Glad you found where all the good free meals are. I befriended the only Chinese family in town in Caronport, SK and got a couple of home-cooked authentic Chinese meals out of the deal. That was v. good to have when I was out on my own. Justice & I also pre-grill our chicken breasts and make a big pot of rice and then put it in the fridge, so that there are enough meals for the week. It's not worth cooking up the storm for one lone meal.
Not sure how you racked up that many miles, but maybe next month things will settle down more and you won't need to drive around as much?
Good luck w/the credit card apps; I'm sure you will find more offers than you want, soon enough. =D
